The Region is responsible for the following waste management activities, processing and disposal of residential garbage, compositing of organic waste materials, collecting, processing and marketing of Blue Box recyclables, operating a rural landfill site and three waste transfer stations, as well as promoting 3Rs programs through education and promotion.
